Most privacy pages are long because they have a lot to hide. This one is short.

We don't store your files. We don't log what's in them. We can't read them — they're encrypted on your device before they're sent, and only the person you're sending to can open them. The same goes for your messages and file names.

What our servers do see. To connect two devices, our servers see your network address for as long as you are connected. It is used for two things only: routing the session, and slowing down anyone who floods the service. It stays in memory and is never written down; when you disconnect, it's gone. They also see the first six digits of a pairing code, which route the connection — never the last three, and never the key those digits produce.

Who else sees it. Our servers run with hosting providers in the European Union, and a content-delivery network sits in front of the website. They see your network address the way any website's hosting does, and nothing of your content. There are no analytics, no ads and no cookies on this site.

Your rights. Under data-protection law, the basis for handling your network address is our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Because nothing is kept, there is nothing we could hand you a copy of, correct or delete — but every right the law gives you stays yours, including the right to complain to your data-protection authority. If you write to us, we keep your email only as long as it takes to answer.

Who we are. Iriszip is an independent project, run by its founder from Georgia. If you self-host Iriszip from the open-source code, this page describes iriszip.com only — your instance is yours.
