IRISZIP

Terms of use

Iriszip moves files and messages between two devices and keeps nothing. These terms say what that means for you and for us. They apply to the service at iriszip.com; the open-source code has its own licenses.

What the service is

You pair two devices with a code, and Iriszip carries encrypted data between them — directly when it can, through our relay when it can't. A session lasts up to 60 minutes and a file can be up to 1 GB. Nothing is stored: when a session ends, the transfer is gone from our side. Iriszip is a transfer, not a place to keep things — if you need a copy later, keep your own.

What you agree to

You use Iriszip for lawful purposes and you are responsible for what you send. In particular, you do not use it to distribute malware or phishing material, content that sexually exploits children, material that infringes someone's rights, or content meant to harass or harm a person, and you do not load the service with automated traffic. We cannot see what is sent, so we rely on you for this.

What we may do

Because your data is encrypted before it reaches us, we cannot read, filter or moderate it, and we do not try to. What we can do, and will do when we have reason to, is end a live pairing code, slow down or block a network address that is flooding the service, and pause or change the service. If we act on a report about you and you think we got it wrong, write to us and a person will look at it. How we handle reports and legal requests is described on the abuse and legal requests page.

What we don't promise

Iriszip is provided as it is and as available. It is free, run by an independent project, and may be unavailable, slow or changed without notice. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty and are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the service — including a transfer that did not complete or a file you no longer have. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Privacy

What our servers see, and for how long, is on the privacy page. It is short.

Changes

If these terms change, the date below changes. Using the service after a change means the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia, where Iriszip is run, without taking away the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
